The Sigma ipPBX is an open, standards based office telephone solution. No longer be tied to a single vendor for phone selection and service. The ipPBX is based on an open-source application Asterisk which was introduced in 1999 and is commercially sponsored by Digium. Digium, launched in 2002, has had 25 consecutive profitable quarters. Asterisk has been deployed on over 4 million servers and has over 3,000 active contributors. The Sigma ipPBX was launched in 2004 and has been deployed with installation ranging from 10 users to 200 users. You will be able to choose from a wide array of VoIP telephones from manufacturers such as Polycom, Cisco, Linksys, Aastra, Snom, Grandstream and many others. Analog phones are also compatible with the ipPBX such as Polycom conference phone, inexpensive analog desk and cordless phones as well as fax machines. The ipPBX is a hybrid PBX in that it can connect to both traditional phone lines (analog and digital T1) and VoIP trunk services. The system is easily managed from any internet browser. Individual users will have access to a user portal which allows them to manage their own extension further reducing the system management overhead. |
